H-1B Visa
February 12, 2009 by admin
The H-1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa given to temporary foreign workers in specialty fields. In most cases, the employer seeking to hire the foreign worker will petition for the worker’s eligibility to obtain the H-1B classification.
In order to apply for the H1-B visa, the foreign worker must have a higher education degree. This may include such fields as:
- Temporary Faculty Workers
- Business Consultants
- Programmers
- Project Managers in Internet Technology Fields
The current application fee for an H-1B visa is $131.00. The worker must also obtain a border crossing card good for ten years, which also costs $131.00. If an extension is required on the visa, this must be requested by the worker’s employer.
